Voices Unsilenced

Supporting Afghan journalists in exile.

The Afghan Journalists in Exile Network (AJEN) is a France-based association dedicated to supporting Afghan journalists affected by censorship, persecution, and displacement following the Taliban’s return to power. Our mission is to defend press freedom and provide a vital lifeline for media professionals forced into exile.

Registered officially in France on June 15, 2023, AJEN emerged from the urgent need to unite displaced media professionals after the collapse of independent media in Afghanistan. We provide a platform for exiled journalists to continue their work while advocating for colleagues still inside the country.
